# About Theresa

Hi, I'm Theresa.

I talk about the things we often don't know how to talk about.

# My Work

I'm Theresa Reed, M.Ed., trauma educator, author, speaker, trainer, facilitator, and founder of Theresa Talks Traumaâ„¢.

My work is built around a simple belief:

When people understand what's happening beneath the behavior, we create opportunities for compassion, connection, accountability, and change.

I believe trauma education should not require a psychology degree to understand.

It should sound like real life.

Because trauma doesn't only show up in therapy offices.

  • At the dinner table.
  • In classrooms.
  • In relationships.
  • At work.
  • In parenting.
  • In leadership.
  • In our bodies.

And sometimes in the email we absolutely should not send until tomorrow morning. 😂

That's why I created Theresa Talks Trauma.

# Why TTT Exists

Why TTT Exists

There are experiences people carry for years without having language for them.

We say:

"That's just how my family is."
"I'm just an overthinker."
"I don't like conflict."
"That's just how my boss communicates."
"My child is being difficult."
"I should be over this by now."

But sometimes there is more happening underneath the surface.

TTT creates space to ask:

What happened?

What did it teach you?

How is it showing up now?

And most importantly:

What do you want to do differently?

# My Approach

My Approach

I bring together education, lived understanding, professional experience, storytelling, practical strategies, compassion, and humor to make difficult subjects easier to approach.

My work is trauma-responsive without making trauma someone's entire identity.

We can acknowledge what happened without believing we're destined to remain there.

That's the heart of From Survival to Becomingâ„¢.

# What You'll Find Here

What You'll Find Here

Theresa Talks Trauma explores six primary areas:

Trauma & Mental Health

Relationships & Emotional Abuse

Parenting, Family & Caregiving

Students, Youth & Education

Work, Leadership & Professional Wellness

Healing, Resilience & Becoming

Different doors.

Same underlying mission:

Restoring Human Connection by Shining Light on What Often Goes Unseen, Unheard, and Unspoken.

This Isn't About Blaming the Past.

It's about understanding it well enough to make different choices in the present.

It's about turning:

"What's wrong with me?"

into:

"What happened, what did I learn to do to survive it, and what do I need now?"

That's where awareness becomes action.

That's where survival begins becoming something more.

That's where we BECOME.
